Open Source, Community Powered

OpenPyro is released under the MIT license, which means you can extend/change the framework as you feel. Even better, we are hosting the code at GitHub to make forking really easy. Of course we would love to get your contributions back into the core and hopefully build a more comprehensive framework together. (more)

Ready to get started ?

Watch the screencast for building a quick application in OpenPyro. Note this video is from a while back so now you dont need to import sources and different libraries into your applicaiton. All you need is the latest swc. You can watch the screencast here. The documentation for the framework can be found here and the wiki has some good examples to get you started as well. And if you do find bugs, please file them here

Want to help?

There is so much to do :). This project is just getting started and so you can play an active role in the direction of the project. While some of the cooler stuff like layouts really works and may need some tweaking, there is a lot of areas you can take ownership of. Packages like the collections, painters, effects are still in their initial stages and really could use someone to take core ownership of. Also we are building on the concept of plugins, where you can write code that doesn't need to go into the foundational code but can work with OpenPyro applications. There are also projects that like the Haxe port that you can help in. So join the Google Group and help make this better.
